This week, a local school district is continuing its tradition of celebrating Homecoming in the middle of winter. Keota High School Principal Steve Seid says with the daily activities, decorations at the high school and other showings of school spirit, it’s very much like any other homecoming week. The special activities and optional dress up days lead up to Friday’s girls and boys basketball game against Belle Plaine at 6pm, followed by the dance.
This year’s candidates for Queen are Mallory Ladehoff, Kayla Baker, Cara Hahn, and Kelsi Sieren. Luke Lyle, Kolton Greiner, Justin Hultman, and Derek Berg are the candidates for King. Royalty will be crowned during halftime of the boys game.
