With plans to spend grant funds before the next fiscal year begins, Brighton will be amending their current budget. The City received a Washington County Riverboat grant in the most recent cycle, and will be spending it on new fire fighting gear. The construction of an additional bay at Brighton’s fire station is also in the works.

The amendment adds an additional $70,000 in spending, although the City only plans to spend half of that. Brighton City Administrator Chris Davies says they added more than they needed to avoid going over budget.
