Following a search of their home by authorities last week, two Fairfield residents were arrested Monday. The search was preceded by a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigation into illegal drugs being distributed at the home at 306 South 14th Street. Derrick Cook Maynard is charged with two felonies: delivery of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver. Megan Marie Reid is charged with possession, a serious misdemeanor.
According to a press release, under the supervision of law enforcement, a concerned citizen made controlled purchases of marijuana from the residence several times.
Those assisting with the investigation include the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Reserve and the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office.
