The Washington YMCA board has unanimously decided to build a new facility. The new building will include all current operations, including child care, racquetball courts and a six lane pool. Director Becky Harkema states that the site officially has yet to be determined.

Also, she said the fundraising goal will be adjusted to be higher than the original $9.6 million goal. The fundraising campaign will begin in May and the board plans to seek a Riverboat Foundation grant.

There was no discussion as to what to do with the current facility.
