Both Mid-Prairie track teams will travel down to Mt. Pleasant tonight for the track meet, giving them just their second meet of the season for both teams.
The Golden Hawks ran on both Friday and Saturday of last week, and are hoping to get this meet in tonight.
Mid-Prairie head girls track and field coach Chris Tyler said it will a bigger meet with larger teams there, and will be good for his team to run against.
“We’re really excited for the level of competition that we are going to see there tonight,” Tyler said. “There are a lot of good sized 3A schools; it’s Ft. Madison, Burlington, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Davenport Assumption, just a lot of schools like that that we don’t see a lot through the year, so it’s going to be really nice to go up against some of the tougher competition in Southeast Iowa, it really helps to bring out the best in our performances to see what we can really do.”
The meet at Mt. Pleasant begins at 4:30 for both the boys and the girls.
