For the second time in less than a week, the Washington Demons (6-15 overall) and the Williamsburg Raiders (20-1 overall) boys’ basketball teams will square off against each other. This meeting between the schools takes place at Clear Creek Amana High School in the semifinals of the Class 3A District 9 tournament.

Last Tuesday, the Demons and Raiders battled in a non conference clash at Washington High School. Williamsburg came away with a 73-54 victory over the Demons in Washington’s final home game of the season. Two Raiders scored more than 22 points in the victory, including a 23 point effort from senior Josh Koeppel. Washington senior guard Gage Redlinger scored 13 points in his final home game, while senior Thomas Bump added 11 points in the loss.

Washington enters the postseason on a positive note, snapping a season long nine game losing streak in a 57-50 victory over Grinnell Tigers (11-10 overall). Three Demons scored double figures in the victory, led by junior Derek Anding’s game-high 22 points.
