The Washington Demon wrestling team returns from Des Moines with two state medal winners.

Senior Brad Skubal (195) finished his high school wrestling career as the second best wrestler in Class 2A. He lost a 9-2 decision to Mediapolis’s Steven Holloway of Mediapolis High School. Skubal finished his final high school wrestling season with a 47-4 overall record, with each of his losses coming to Holloway.

Sophomore Kyle Anderson (120) ended his wrestling season as the eight best wrestler in Class 2A. He lost by a 11-5 decision against Boyden-Hull’s Austin Rozeboom in tournament’s seventh place match. Anderson finishes his second high school wrestling season with a 33-13 overall mark.

Washington sophomore wrestlers Anderw Waite (113) and Trey Van Weelden (138) also particpated in the state tournament.
