Career services, financial counseling, and community resources will be covered in community meetings this month. The Kirkwood Washington Regional Center is hosting these meetings aimed at helping people transition with sudden career changes. Director of the center, Tera Pickens, explains, the meeting is open to anyone in the community and may be helpful for those effected by businesses being closed.
In April, Modine Manufacturing Company announced plans to close its plant in Washington, impacting about 245 full-time employees.
Pickens adds there will also being information about finances and debt consolidation provided by local financial institutions. Pickens adds the goal of these meetings is to help skilled employees make transitions.
The meetings will be held this Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. and July 24th at 2:45 p.m. For more information listen to today’s Washington Page with Pickens.
