The Sigourney Savage softball team (26-12 overall) saw their season come to a close Monday evening in Ottumwa. The Savages faced off against the No. 2 New London Tigers (30-2 overall) in the Class 1A Region 5 tournament championship game Monday evening in Ottuwma. Trailing 1-0 entering the final half inning, the Tigers rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Savages.

New London advanced to the state tournament for the fourth time in school history.

Sigourney’s season ends with an overall record of 26-12.
