Tomorrow is the final day the Steele Family Aquatic Center in Washington is open for the season. YMCA of Washington County director Becky Harkema says the facility will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. depending on the bather load. She adds the past few days there has been low attendance. This was the second summer the YMCA managed the facility and Harkema estimates 400 children took part in swimming classes.
The annual Doggie Paddle will be held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., where people can bring their dogs to the pool to swim for $5. The funds raised go to the city’s dog park.
