Washington State Bank has announced an agreement to acquire the operations of Columbus Junction State Bank. The regulatory approval is expected to happen in the last quarter of the year and once it is complete the Columbus Junction bank will operate as an office of Washington State Bank. Steve Bohn, president and CEO of Washington State Bank, calls the acquisition exciting and an opportunity to be an active community partner in Columbus Junction. Washington State Bank was established in 1932 and recently built a new branch in Fairfield, which opened last month.

Columbus Junction State Bank was formed in 1927 and Dan Wilson, chairman of the bank, stated it will “be an excellent fit” for existing customers.
