Lake Darling joined state parks across the nation on New Year’s Day in an event called First Day Hike. The two-mile trek through the park drew 75 people to rural Brighton. Faye Vittetoe of Friends of Lake Darling tells KCII News, the hike included a tour of the new four season cabins. The cabins will open up in the spring. Vittetoe says there is interest in the park hosting a hike with the first day of every season and hikers are welcome at the park everyday starting at 4:30 a.m.
