Despite cool temperatures and winter weather, the Washington Public Library remains busy. Debbie Stanton, director of the library, said in the bleak January weather they stay active at the library with a variety of events and programs for all ages. The coloring club for adults and children alike is continuing through the month of January. Also for teens, an anime club is meeting every Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. A program for young children is called Wee Read Storytime, where young children and an adult can come in at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

Stanton adds there’s a special event on January 26th, when an unveiling of an updated juvenile fiction section will be held. The library received a grant from Alliant Energy for the project.
