The Washington City Council discussed limiting parking on Sitler Drive at their regular meeting Tuesday night. The street south of Washington High School was widened over the summer and split into a boulevard near South E Avenue. City Administrator Brent Hinson explained the council may want to consider limiting parking on the street as it is designed to be a significant route in the future as West Buchanan Street is developed.
Council member Kathy Salazar suggested having parking on only one side of the street to accommodate ball games and events, with no parking permitted on the boulevard section. The council approved a motion directing staff to draft an ordinance change for formal consideration.
