The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team sprinted past West Liberty on Tuesday night in Wellman, beating the Comets 58-33.

The Golden Hawks blitzed West Liberty right out of gate, outscoring the Comets 17-8 in the first quarter and going on a 15-4 run that lasted the entire second frame to take a 32-12 lead into the half. Mid-Prairie maintained control in the second half outscoring the Comets 26-21 en route to the victory. On the night the Golden Hawks were led by Addison Rath with 13 points. With the win, Mid-Prairie is now 10-8 on the season.
