A man from Mt. Pleasant was arrested after driving the wrong way on a highway Saturday evening. At 9:13 p.m., a report of a possible intoxicated driver was received going northbound from Olds on Highway 218. Authorities stopped the vehicle in the 2900 block of Highway 218 and arrested 34-year-old Rene Portillo for operating while intoxicated – first offense, open container, driving on the wrong side of the highway, no insurance and no valid drivers license.

Also, 32-year-old Gudiel Urizar-Urizar of Mt. Pleasant was arrested for public intoxication and open container. The two were taken to the Washington County Jail.
