A junior on the Columbus girls’ basketball team has been recognized as one of the best nine players in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North this season. The coaches of the league honored the Wildcats’ Shaina Boyd with a spot on the first team all-conference squad.
Boyd ended the season as the Wildcats’ leading scorer with 392 points, and her 139 rebounds topped the squad as well. She also swiped a team-best 78 steals.
Junior Bailey Stroud represented Columbus on the second team all-conference crew. Stroud was the Wildcats’ second best scorer this season, pouring in 245 points. She was the top facilitator on the team, dishing out 78 assists.
Senior Kortney Orr and senior Sarah Todd are honorable mention selections for the Wildcats.
Columbus ended their season with a 9-15 overall record. The Wildcats lose Orr, Todd, Laura Minks, Andrea Rodriguez, and Kelli Roush to graduation.
