A suspect has been arrested for the burglaries of two Louisa County homes earlier this week.
Paul J. Baker 40-years-old of Fort Madison was arrested in Burlington for multiple burglaries in the last month across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. On Monday homes in Louisa County reported jewelry and Apple computer products stolen. Louisa County Sheriff Brad Turner says most of the items have been recovered however authorities are still tracking down a few items believed to be sold to a pawn shop.
Baker will now face charges in Lewis County in Missouri, Hancock County in Illinois, and Lee, Des Moines, Jefferson, and Louisa counties in Iowa. He is being held in the Lee County Jail. Thirteen law enforcement agencies assisted in the investigation including the Fort Madison Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County Illinois Sheriff’s Office, Nauvoo Police Department, Hancock County Illinois Sheriff’s Office, Scott County Iowa Sheriff’s Office, Lewis County Missouri Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Reserves and Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center.
