PAWS and More Animal Shelter in Washington has started a new program called “Every ‘Litter’ Bit Helps” to help cover the cost of cat litter at the shelter. The way it works, supporters purchase two 45 pound bags of pine pellet cat litter at the shelter for $11 per bag, then they take one bag home and leave the other for the shelter. The shelter spends about $700 each month on cat litter, or $8,400 per year.
Amber Talbot, director of PAWS and More says, the shelter is offering half-priced cat adoptions because their population remains very high and they expect kittens soon with warmer weather. The adoption fee is only $50 through March.
