Iowa’s Severe Weather Awareness Week is coming up later this month and ahead of spring severe weather storm spotter training classes are being held across the state. One class is being held tonight in Washington and the KCII Severe Weather Action Team will be in attendance. KCII has trained storm spotters on staff so we can bring you accurate storm information quickly when severe weather hits the area.
The class is instructed by National Weather Service meteorologists and they will teach those in attendance how to determine wind speed, differences in cloud formations, and about thunderstorms and tornadoes.
Washington’s storm spotter training will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds and is open to the public and free of charge.
