The Sigourney girls basketball  team was honored last week by the South Iowa Cedar League.

The Savages had four players receive all-conference accolades. Sigourney senior Sierra Davis was a unanimous first team all-SICL selection. Davis led the conference in scoring at 19 points per contest. She also became a member of Sigourney’s 1,000 point club on January 8th with a 34 point effort against Colfax-Mingo. Davis also collected 77 steals, fifth best in the conference and 43 assists.

Sophomore Autumn Barthelman was a second team all-conference selection. Barthelman was sixth in the conference at 12 points per game. She led the Savages and was third in the league with 94 assists. Her 107 steals were the best in the South Iowa Cedar League.

Junior Anna Ohland was an honorable mention all-SICL selection. Ohland averaged four points per game for the Savages and was the team’s leading rebounder, pulling in 159 boards on the season, 9th best in conference.

Sophomore Brooke Waechter was also an honorable mention all-South Iowa Cedar League selection. Waechter averaged seven points per game for the Savages. Her 80 steals were second best on the team and fourth best in the conference. Waechter finished the year with 120 rebounds and 43 assists.

Sigourney ended the year with a 14-10 overall record. The Savages were eliminated by the eventual state champion Springville Orioles 57-27 in the regional semifinals.
