Magic lantern slides that are older than the Ainsworth Opera House, which celebrated its centennial last year, will be shown there next week. Mike Zahs explains it will be the first public performance of this show and Red Cedar Chamber Music will accompany the slides. Zahs explains magic lantern slides were the top form of entertainment in the U.S.in the 1700 and 1800’s and those being shown were once owned and shown by Washington couple Frank and Indiana Brinton. The slides were hand painted and projected images.

There are still seats available for the March 18th show, to reserve tickets contact Zahs (319) 653-6250.
