The Iowa Mennonite softball team is hosting a pair of games today as part of the 2016 IMS Classic Tournament.
Other teams participating include: Keota, WACO and Tri-County. IMS comes into the tournament with an overall record of 2-7. In their last recorded game they fell at Cardinal of Eldon 14-0 on Tuesday. On the year IMS is led at the plate by Rubye Ney. The freshman is hitting .500 with a team best 13 total hits and nine runs scored. Calli Shaw and Avery Blauvelt hold the team lead with 10 RBI apiece. Hannah Harris leads IMS in the circle with a 2-6 overall record. She has thrown 45 innings with a 7.10 ERA.
Keota enters today’s action with an 0-3 overall record. In their last game the Eagles fell to Iowa Valley 11-0 on Monday. Abby Schulte leads the way for the Eagles with a.600 batting average. Raigan Spouse has worked seven and a third innings for Keota in the circle this year with an 18.14 ERA.
The WACO Warriors come into today’s tournament with an overall record of 0-12. In their last recorded game they lost to Winfield-Mt. Union 12-6. Katie Miles leads the Warriors at the plate with a .421 average. Her eight hits is also tops for WACO. Miles also leads WACO in the circle. She has worked 36 innings this year with a 22.17 ERA.
Tri-County is 5-10 entering play today. In the Trojans last game they fell to Sigourney 14-2. Kaitlyn Little leads the way at the plate for Tri-County, hitting .468 with a team best eight doubles. Little is also best in the circle for Tri-County with a 4-9 record, she has worked 100 innings this year with a 3.44 ERA.
