The official use of Washington County roads for RAGBRAI on July 29th and 30th was approved at this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. County Auditor Dan Widmer explained RAGBRAI submitted the formal documents with a $2 million insurance policy, but not a hold harmless agreement to which County Attorney Shawn Showers didn’t have problems with, but he encourages continuing to ask for the agreement with other events that use county roads.
That Friday, cyclists will enter Washington County on Highway 92 from Sigourney until they get to West Chester, then they’ll go south on W38 and east into Washington on G38. The next day, they’ll go north out of Washington on 12th Street and east on G36 into Louisa County.
