The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded nearly $100,000 in mini grants this week. Each summer the foundation awards grants up to $2,000 for special projects for nonprofit organizations in the area. In total 51 grants were awarded Wednesday for $99,905. Some of the grants included $2,000 for a butterfly garden to the Brighton Chamber, $2,000 to the Wellman Volunteer Fire Department for rescue equipment, $2,000 for the Dyslexia Kids Connection and $2,000 for the Noah’s Ark Foundation for new shelter flooring.
