Four fire departments responded to a fire near Wellman Monday evening. According to the Washington County Communications office, at 5:25 p.m. they received a call in the 1300 block of Ivy Avenue of an LP tank that blew up and caught a garage on fire, southeast of Wellman. There was one vehicle in the garage. No injuries were reported. Wellman, Keota, Kalona and Washington Fire Departments extinguished the fire; Wellman Rescue, Wellman QRS, Kalona QRS, Washington County Ambulance and REC Electric Company also responded to the scene.
