The Clear Creek Amana football team finished right at the .500 mark in 2015, going 5-5 overall and finishing with a 4-2 mark in district play, taking third place.

The Clippers return leading rusher and Iowa Mennonite School student Drake Brezina, who finished last season with 1,010 yards and two touchdowns. Leading receiver Cory Siders, who hauled in 10 catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns is also returning for his senior season.

The Clipper defense returns three of their top five tacklers, including Jared Eckrich, Ethan Taylor and Ashton Carpenter who combined to make 122 stops a season ago with 20 tackles for loss.

CCA enters a new district this year. The only team from last year’s district that joins them in 2015 is district champion Davenport Assumption. Joining the Clippers this year are Central DeWitt, Center Point-Urbana, Maquoketa, Marion, Dubuque Wahlert and West Delaware, Manchester. Davenport Assumption, Maquoketa, Wahlert and West Delaware were all playoff qualifiers a year ago with West Delaware advancing to the state semifinals before being eliminated by the eventual champion Pella Dutch. The Clippers non-district opponents include Mount Pleasant and Independence. CCA opens their season August 26th on the road against Mount Pleasant.
