Probation supervision to court ordered individuals, substance abuse assessment or evalutations and service referrals are all provided by the Washington County Outreach office. Director Erin Sorrells provided an update at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting informing them that she currently has 101 clients with a variety of backgrounds, including operating while intoxicated, assault, and drug related offenses. She averages 98 to 115 clients. Supervisor Jack Seward applauded the work of the department, as Washington County is one of two counties in the state that have local county-operated outreach service for substance abuse. Sorrells also told the supervisors about the Washington County Outreach Facebook page, which aims to help educate the public about the work they do and services available.
