August temperatures in Washington were above normal. According to the National Weather Service, Washington’s average temperature this August was 73.9 degrees, above the normal 72.4 degrees. The average maximum temperature was 83.8 degrees, on par with the normal, but the average minimum temperature was three degrees above normal at 63.9 degrees.

So far this year, the average temperature observed has been 53.9 degrees, higher than the usual 51.7 degree average.
