The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams travel to Monticello today for a star-studded meet.
Mid-Prairie enters the contest ranked No. 3 in the state in class 2A on the boys side. Other boys teams joining the Golden Hawks are No. 13 in 2A Monticello, No. 10 in 2A Anamosa, Dyersville-Beckman, Cascade, Center Point-Urbana, Clayton Ridge, Durant, Maquoketa Valley, Springville, No. 12 in 2A Tipton, No. 19 in 2A Western Dubuque, Epworth, and Wilton. Last time out the Golden Hawks were team champions at the Keota Eagle Invitational on Tuesday. Mid-Prairie was led at the meet by individual champion Peyton Miller, and runner-up Floyd Evans. Individually, the boys field has three ranked runners including No. 18 in class 2A Peyton Miller from Mid-Prairie.
The Mid-Prairie girls were also champions at the Keota Invitational on Tuesday. The Golden Hawk girls were led by Anna and Marie Hostetler who finished as champion and runner-up respectively at the event. Mid-Prairie enters today ranked No. 4 in the state in class 2A girls cross country. The Hawks will be joined at the meet by Anamosa, Dyersville-Beckman, No. 6 in 2A Cascade, No. 17 in 3A Center Point-Urbana, Clayton Ridge, No. 16 in 1A Durant, Maquoketa Valley, Springville, Tipton, Western Dubuque Epworth, and Wilton. Individually, the girls field has seven ranked runners including No. 1 in class 2A Anna Hostetler of Mid-Prairie and No. 11 in 2A Marie Hostetler for the Hawks.
