Today marks the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks which caused four planes to crash – two in New York City, one at the Pentagon and one in an empty field in Pennsylvania. In total, 2,997 people died in those attacks conducted by members of al-Qaeda. Many firefighters who rushed to the scenes were among those who lost their lives that day.

This week, area military members, firefighters, law enforcement and emergency crews will be honored at the Washington High School for a Heroes Night and meal. Thursday the meal will be held. On Friday, the Heroes Caravan will begin at the high school at 4:30 p.m. and then travel to Case Field for the football game. These heroes will be invited to line up on the field during the National Anthem.
