Homecoming week for Winfield-Mt. Union kicked off Monday. According to Secretary Brooke McArtor, the students have been getting into school spirit with the dress-up days, though they’re most looking forward to tonight’s “Boom Night.” Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. in the big gym, where the coaches will talk to the student body about their sports. The homecoming king and queen will then be crowned, and the boys powder puff volleyball game will follow. The event then moves to the football field where the drill team will perform a co-ed dance, and the night will finish with the girls powder puff football game.
Friday will be highlighted by a pep rally at 2 p.m., followed immediately by the homecoming parade, and the football game against Danville will kick off at 7 p.m. The week concludes Saturday with the homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. This year’s homecoming court is Hannah Buffington, Kayla Coberly, Sophie Kongable, Francesca Rappenecker, Haley Rodgers, Trey Newton, Jordan Hudson, Broc Mullin, Bryce Robison, and Cary Stalder.
