A pair of former Washington Demon football players are seeing playing time this fall at their respective their college programs. Last Saturday, 2014 Washington alum Alex Coker and 2015 Demon grad Thomas Bump both saw playing time during their squad’s week two victories.

Coker, a redshirt sophomore for the Division I University of South Dakota Coyotes, tallied seven total tackles in a 52-49 double overtime victory over Weber State. Coker has made 16 total tackles in two starts at outside linebacker, surpassing the 12 tackles he made his freshman season as a reserve linebacker. The Coyotes are in Grand Fork North Dakota today, facing the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks at 4 p.m.

Bump, a redshirt freshman for the Division II Missouri Western State University Griffons, received fourth quarter playing time for a second straight week. The linebacker made three total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and recorded an eight-yard sack in Missouri Western’s 51-14 victory over Missouri Southern. Bump has four total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in his first two college football games. The Griffons host the Central Missouri Mules at 6 p.m. tonight at Spratt Stadium in St. Joseph, Missouri.
