The Iowa Mennonite School girls basketball team opened 2016 with a road loss at No. 15 Mediapolis Tuesday night by a 60-37 score.
Mediapolis held a 13-9 lead after the first quarter but the Bullettes pulled away in the second, going on a 20-5 run that lasted the entire frame, holding a 33-14 lead at the half. In the second half IMS was outscored 27-23 and were unable to make a push to get back in the contest.
Mackenzie Rogers led MEPO with 28 points. Iowa Mennonite was led by Suzanna Yoder who finished with 24 points on 11/17 shooting from the floor. Yoder added four rebounds, two steals and two assists. With the loss IMS falls to 0-1 on the year. They will next be in action Tuesday when they travel to Lone Tree.
