A junior on the Highland Huskies girls’ basketball team nearly matched her last season total for three-point field goals made on Tuesday. Brylee Carolan, who made seven three-point baskets last season in 34 attempts, scored a career-high 22 points including six three-pointers in a 64-25 victory over New London.

Carolan, who scored 55 points as a sophomore, is Highland’s top scorer through two games with 33 points. She made a trio of three-point baskets in a 55-7 victory last Friday versus Keota. Highland head coach Jody Fink said Carolan has the green light to shoot from beyond the arc, stating he’s seen her make shots 26 feet from the basket in practice. Carolan said she attempts anywhere between 50 to 150 three point shots every practice.

Kelsey Hora came away with 16 points, while Aly Stokes and Abbie Miller added nine points each. The victory improves Highland to 2-0 overall. The Huskies resume their season Tuesday at home versus Columbus (1-0).
