The first half of the season for the Washington Demon basketball teams ends at home tonight. Washington welcomes the Marion Indians to town for a pair of non-conference clashes. The Indians swept the Demons in last year’s meeting in Marion.

The Demon boys’ basketball team is coming off a 90-55 home loss Tuesday to the No. 7 Oskaloosa Indians, dropping Washington’s record to 1-3. Jaivonn Willis led Washington with 17 points. The Marion Indians enter tonight with a 4-3 overall record after defeating the Center Point-Urbana Stormin Pointers, 60-56.

It’s been a week since the Washington girls’ basketball team was last in competition, falling to the Class 2A Sigourney Savages, 56-40. The Demons will entertain the second best team in Class 4A basketball tonight. Marion (8-0) is coming off a top 5 matchup versus the No. 5 Center Point-Urbana Stormin Pointers Friday, winning the game, 60-57.
