Inconsistent scoring proved to be costly for the Washington Demon girls’ basketball (2-7) Friday night. As heard live on KCII FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons visited Mount Pleasant High School for a Southeast Conference battle versus the Panthers (5-4). The Demons left Henry County with a 48-35 loss.

Washington struggled to score in the first and third quarters, tallying a combined five points. The Demons led at halftime, 19-14, after scoring a team-best 17 second quarter points. Mount Pleasant out scored Washington, 34-16, in the second half. Washington was led in scoring by Sarah Nacos with 13 points. Kalynn Bailey and Maddie Williamson poured in 12 a piece for Mount Pleasant.

The loss drops Washington’s record to 2-7 overall. The Demons return to the court on January 14, traveling to Oskalooa for a non-conference tilt versus the Indians.
