The first meeting of 2017 for the Mid-Prairie School Board will be held Monday night, and they will discuss a report on a site-visit to the Eminence School District in Kentucky. The superintendent of the Eminence School District is Buddy Berry, who has been invited to speak to the teachers and administrators of Mid-Prairie, Washington, and WACO schools in February. Other topics include discussion on the school’s discretionary busing policy, and discussion of a Wellman Golf Course easement. The board will also have a work session to go over the elementary study group report. The report includes seven priorities the group came up with to improve elementary learning at Mid-Prairie, including reducing class sizes and making learning more personalized. The meeting is open to the public and will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Mid-Prairie High School Library in Wellman.
