The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams travel to Monticello tonight for a River Valley Conference doubleheader against the Panthers.
The Golden Hawk girls enter tonight’s game with an overall record of 10-4. They are currently ranked No. 14 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. In their last game they lost to No. 1 Iowa City Regina 77-63. Addie Rath led the Golden Hawks with 24 points in the contest. Ali Butters leads Mid-Prairie scoring 13 points per game. Rath is the team leader with 65 assists, second best in the RVC. Ireland Hostetler leads the Golden Hawks and is fifth in the conference 119 rebounds.
The Monticello girls enter tonight with an overall record of 9-5. On Tuesday they lost to Camanche 65-41. On the year the Panthers are led by Lauren Ries at 16 points per game, fourth most in the River Valley Conference. She also has the team lead on the glass with 82 boards. Shay Stephen is best on the team and seventh in the conference with 46 assists.
In the nightcap the Mid-Prairie boys enter action with a 4-11 overall record. On Tuesday they fell at Iowa City Regina 67-60. Caleb Statler led the Hawks with 12 points. Statler leads Mid-Prairie in scoring at 10 points per game. Brad Tornow has the team lead with 40 assists, sixth best in the RVC. Tom Butters leads the Hawks with 83 rebounds, seventh in the league.
The Monticello Panthers come into tonight with an overall record of 7-6. The Panthers lost to Anamosa Thursday night by a 62-42 count. On the year Monticello is led by Jacob Manternach at 12 points per game, ninth in the conference. Manternach also leads the Panthers with 22 assists. Alex Nealson is best on the team with 67 rebounds, seventh best in the conference.
