A three-game homestand begins tonight for the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (3-12). The Davis County Mustangs (3-13) will travel to Washington for a non-conference contest versus the Demons. This is the first meeting between the schools since Washington defeated Davis County, 65-48, two seasons ago.

The Demons girls’ basketball team traveled to Cedar Rapids Saturday for a non-conference game versus the Cedar Rapids Prairie Hawks (6-11). Washington was outscored, 28-12, in the second half to fall, 57-35. Brooke Stout scored a career-high 12 points and grabbed a team-best six rebounds. Sarah Nacos and Morgan Brinning added seven points each in the setback. The loss was the fifth straight for Washington, dropping their overall record to 3-12.

Davis County is searching for their first win in 2017, entering tonight on a 10-game skid. M’chelle Allen leads the Mustangs with 167 points, 88 rebounds, 53 assists, and 37 steals. Davis County’s last victory came on December 13 over the Knoxville Panthers (7-11), 52-46.
