Alliant Energy is helping customers with their heating bills this winter. In an effort to relieve financial stress of energy bills to heat homes, the company has donated $1 million to its Hometown Care Energy Fund in Iowa. The fund is administered through local assistance agencies, like HACAP, and provides help for heating costs for income-eligible customers. The fund helped over 2,400 Iowa households with energy costs during last heating season. The $1 million comes from shareowners, and is not included in rates charged to utility customers. Energy assistance applications can be found with HACAP.
