The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team finished a season sweep of the West Liberty Comets Tuesday at West Liberty on Senior Night 66-49.

Mid-Prairie used an early 9-2 run to build a seven point lead in the first quarter but the Comets rallied and held a 19-18 lead after one frame. In the second quarter the Golden Hawks outscored the Comets 20-10 to take a nine point lead into the break. Mid-Prairie still held that advantage going to the fourth quarter. In the final frame the Hawks would stretch the lead as far as 18 before finishing the victory. Mid-Prairie was led by Derek Rich and his 19 points including five made three point goals. Caleb Statler finished with 12 and Brad Tornow 11. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 6-14 on the year.
