The Southeast Conference homestand continued Saturday afternoon for the Washington Demon bowling teams. The Keokuk Chiefs traveled to Lebowski’s Rock ‘N’ Bowl and Washington sent Keokuk back to Lee County with a conference split.
Four Washington boys’ bowlers recorded individual scores above 360 pins to help the Demons win their fourth straight match, 2,759-2,468. Colin Zear dropped a team-best 442 pins in 20 frames. Kylan Gillette posted a score of 391. Tucker Renox sunk 375 pins while Kolton Segebart recorded a score of 364. Washington tallied 1,910 pins in the individual round and added 849 in the baker rounds. The victory improves the Demon boys’ overall record to 5-3.
Keokuk bested Washington in the girls’ matchup, 2,524-1,910. Dawsen Schluetter rolled the best two-game score for Washington at 279 pins. Taylor Northup finished the individual round 10 pins behind Schluetter. Washington dropped 1,277 pins in round one and 633 more in the baker rounds. The loss drops Washington’s girls’ squad to 3-4 overall.
The Washington bowling teams will conclude their league season at home Saturday against the Fairfield Trojans. First pins are set to drop at 2 p.m. at Lebowski’s Rock ‘N’ Bowl.
