There will be new faces at the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department, as the Riverside City Council agreed to bring in seven new firefighters. At the most recent city council meeting, Riverside Fire Chief Chad Smothers presented the prospective volunteers to the council. They unanimously approved a resolution for six volunteer firefighters and one emergency medical technician. The firefighters include Andy Roder, Toby Hancock, Karson Duwa, Ken Voorhees, Bill Stukey, and Brian Goerdt. The EMT is Payton Hart, a student at Iowa Mennonite School.
