The Washington High School wrestling team is headed to Des Moines this week. The team qualified for the second year in a row for the state dual tournament. It will be held Wednesday.
Also this week is the individual tournament. Washington is sending Kyle Anderson, Austin Hazelett, Trey Van Weelden, Tristin Westphal-Edwards, and Karlton Skubal. For details from this weekend listen to today’s sports on KCII. Southeast Iowa will be represented by a number of area athletes from Mid-Prairie, Columbus-Winfield-Mt. Union, Highland, Sigourney/Keota, and WACO. The local line up includes: Visouth Peterschmidt (Mid-Prairie); Jarod Kadel and Tucker Morrison (Columbus-W-MU); Cory Stewart (Highland); Mason Dye, Kaleb Reeves, and Noah Boender (Sigourney/Keota); and Cody Crawford (WACO).
