The Washington County Conservation Board has a project on the horizon that will bring improvements to the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park. Conservation Director Steve Anderson says the board is forming a subcommittee to plan the improvements during the coming year. The project will center around total upgrades to their exhibits in Tinnes Hall and its sound system. Anderson explains, “Exhibits there were built when the center was new, so they’ve reached their age where it’s time to reconsider (them). And so that’s what they’re doing. And honestly, the committee is in its infancy, they don’t know what they’re going to do, only that it’s time to take a look at doing something.” Anderson is hopeful patrons will find the new exhibits exciting, and he believes they’ll be much more interactive. He’s unsure of what the total cost for the project will be, and admits they have a lot of research to do before it gets much traction.
