The public will have the opportunity to weigh in on two topics at the upcoming Keota City Council meeting. The council is holding a public hearing to discuss the plans and specifications for the wastewater plant. The city is upgrading its sewage system with a $1.2 million project, and the public will be able to weigh in on the specifics of the project during the hearing. After the hearing, the council is expected to approve the plans and move forward to the bid process. The council will also hold a public hearing regarding the 2017/2018 budget.

Other topics on the agenda include the consideration of a series of resolutions. The council is expected to approve the resolution for the annexation of 2030, 2034, and 2038 Keokuk-Washington Road, which had been tabled at the two previous meetings. They will also consider resolutions approving salaries, the city budget, and applications for the Washington County Riverboat Foundation’s spring grant cycle. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Keota City Hall.
