The Washington Area Soccer Program (WASP) had multiple teams compete in the 2017 Winter Iowa Games. The annual event took place January 28 and 29 in Dubuque and WASP was represented in the U11 and U12 indoor soccer divisions. Both teams earned bronze medals.
In addition, the Iowa Games Executive Director Chuck Long awarded the WASP’s U11 team with the Jim Hallihan Sportsmanship medals. The award represents the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The medals were a surprise to coaches Heather Perez and Sally Hart, as they recently came in the mail.
