Washington, Winfield-Mt. Union, and Columbus Community girls track teams head to Fort Madison for the Pen City Relays tonight.
All three teams were last in action Thursday in the annual Demon Relays. Washington looks to improve off their runner-up finish that featured eight event championships. Hannah Anderson made her presence known taking home the title in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and long jump. Other multi event winners for the Demons include Ashley Telleen who grabbed first place in the 400m dash and 400 hurdles. The Wildcats placed seventh in the Demon Relays and are led by Shania Boyd. She is fresh off her second place finishes in the 400m hurdles and 100m hurdles, as well as a third place finish in the 100 meter dash. Winfield-Mt. Union placed ninth overall at the event and found success in the 4×800 meter relay where they placed third. That team consists of Mary Guillen, Pearl Krieger-Coble, Whitney Vantiger, and Cecilia Hemsworth.
Other teams participating in the invitational include Burlington, Cedar Rapids-Jefferson, Central Lee, Danville, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City Regina, Keokuk, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, New London, and West Burlington.
The action gets started tonight at 4:30 p.m. in Fort Madison.
