Easter baskets with filled with brightly colored eggs, candy, and more will be presented to many area children this weekend, including 13 locally who have been affected by domestic violence. The Washington County Domestic Violence Coalition works to help adults and children impacted by domestic violence in a variety of ways, including donating gifts during the holidays. Trinity Methodist Church in Riverside put together the 13 Easter baskets with candy, toys and gift cards, and supplied presents for the mothers. This is the second year the women’s group of the church has donated Easter baskets; they’ve also donated over 100 Christmas gifts the last two years.

President of the coalition Brad Koenig says the coalition recently acquired storage space and is now collecting donations of household items to help victims of domestic violence get established.
